Soothing Peri-Spray: Immortelle
Every mom has a favorite blend and this is at the top of this list for postpartum. I make this spray up for all my new mom’s to have right after she welcomes her new babe. This is a must have peri–spray for every new mom. It offers amazing soothing comfort to that “oh so tender” area after birth. I recommend using a regular peri bottle to rinse off after each bathroom use, a gentle pat dry with a soft cloth, then a quick spray of this blend.
Soothing Peri-Spray
I use Immortelle, 20-30 drops in a 15ml bottle and fill the rest of your spray bottle with fractionated coconut oil, or witch hazel and top with a spay top.
Immortelle was created specifically for skin and longevity, and it was named appropriately, but this oil has countless other benefits. It is one of my favorite blends because of the amazing powerhouse oils that make up this blend. It can actually accelerate tissue repair, and has become my favorite oil of choice for soothing and healing the tender perineum areas after childbirth. If you don’t have Immortelle, as a substitute you can mix 10 drops each of helichrysm, frankincense and lavender in a 15ml bottle, top it off with FCO or witch hazel and then put a spray top on it.
These oils are not only soothing but they support the body in its ability to heal itself while offering relief to the tender tissues at the same time. All the oils in this blend are powerhouse oils but my favorite is helichrysm because it is known for its regenerative healing properties. I often refer to this oil as “liquid gold”. It definitely is an investment, but after you use it even once, you will never want to be without.
How soon after birth can you use the spray and can you still use if you’ve had stitches?
Can you use this even if you have stitches, or will the oil cause the stitches to deteriorate?
